The handbook covers 5 thematic areas (knowing the environment, conserving the environment,
the role of trees in our environment, climate change and expanding learning beyond class
rooms). Within each thematic area, there are lessons designed in such a way that they provide
practical exercises, which is an opportunity to engage children in real action in order to increase
learning about the theme of the lesson.

This handbook is currently used to conduct lessons on environment management in schools. It has two handouts:

  1. A Guide to Teachers on how to conduct theoretical and practical lessons covering 5 thematic areas with 20 lessons on environment and natural resources (see https://www.academia.edu/11645975/A_handbook_for_your_environment_-_A_teachers_guide)
  2. Practical Exercises for Learners – intended to provide practical exercises that improve awareness, engage children in conservation efforts and has illustrations and drawings that relate to the themes.
